The American pop superstar Justin Timberlake spent a night in custody after being arrested for driving under the influence. This incident occurred in Sag Harbor, an upscale area east of New York. Local authorities confirmed that Timberlake admitted to the facts and was released after appearing before the Sag Harbor court.
According to the Suffolk County prosecutor, Timberlake, 43, will have to appear again via videoconference on July 26. The arrest took place while he was driving a BMW around 12:30 AM in the Hamptons area, known for its luxurious residences. The police indicated that Timberlake did not respect a stop sign and struggled to keep his car on the right path.
During the arrest, officers noticed that the singer had bloodshot eyes and breath smelling of alcohol. CBS reports that Timberlake admitted to having drunk a Martini before heading home.
After a night behind bars, Timberlake was photographed for his mug shot and released.
Known for his beginnings with the boy band NSYNC and a successful solo career, Timberlake has made a mark on the music industry by winning ten Grammy Awards and four Emmys.
